About Us

DYO Investments is a real estate investment firm built on the power of compounding. We believe that patient capital, hands-on management, and principled execution can create exceptional returns.

With active projects across six states in the Southeast, we self-manage the majority of our portfolio-handling leasing, capital projects, and staffing entirely in-house. We climb on roofs, shake hands with our tenants, and solve problems directly. That proximity to our assets has propelled us toward strong results: over $200 million in assets under management, retail holdings generating roughly 100% of invested equity in annual cash flow, and nearly a decade of double-digit same-store revenue growth in self-storage.

Brooks brings a hands-on approach to real estate, staying deeply involved in the daily operations of every property. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Self Storage Association and holds a B.S. in Economics from Duke University.

Brooks focuses on storage and neighborhood retail because both reward disciplined local execution. Fragmented ownership, operational complexity, and expansion optionality create room for a hands-on owner to compound value over time.

John Alexander

John Alexander

Partner & General Manager

John joined DYO in 2022, bringing experience from institutional investment and technology sectors. He serves on the board of the PCA Foundation and holds a B.S. in Economics from Duke University.

John is drawn to storage and retail because the best opportunities sit at the intersection of data, operations, and local market knowledge. The asset classes are understandable, but the execution gap can be meaningful.
